Temporary admission to trading of shares on Merkur Market

Oslo Børs is offering a new product to companies that are already listed on Oslo Børs or Oslo Axess which allows temporary admission to trading on Merkur Market for either new shares that belong to a class of shares that is already listed, or shares that belong to a new class of shares

Oslo Børs can temporarily admit to trading on Merkur Market shares that belong to a class of shares that is already listed on Oslo Børs or Oslo Axess. It is also possible for a new class of shares that differs from the class of shares that an issuer already has listed on Oslo Børs or Oslo Axess to be temporarily admitted to trading.

The admission processes for both these situations are regulated in greater detail in the Admission to Trading Rules for Merkur Market, cf. Sections 9 and 10. In short, the admission processes are quick and simple, with simpler documentation requirements, and are further customised in dialogue with companies.

This new product is the result of specific enquiries from market participants that see benefit in being able to offer their investors a cost-effective solution with an electronic order book, automatic order matching and continuous market surveillance.

Examples of situations when temporary admission can be appropriate include when a company is waiting for an issue prospectus to be inspected and approved by Finanstilsynet and when carrying out a financial restructuring.
